Suresh Basnet, president of NTA Independent Employees´ Union, handed over the amount collected over the past three months to Rabindra Mishra of Help Nepal Network amid a function on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Basnet said the assistance was part of their ´citizens social responsibility´.
“It might not be the big amount, but if every employee from each organization starts contributing Rs 100 every month, it can make a huge difference,” Basnet said.
NTA Director Ananda Raj Khanal lauded the employees´ initiative and said the assistance will directly benefit needy people with health and education facilities.
“We are hopeful that other government and non-government organizations as well as corporate houses will also follow the initiative," Khanal added.
