NT promises better, cheaper ADSL

KATHAMNDU, Nov 20: Nepal Telecom (NT) has started installation of Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS) to improve quality of ADSL service, a press release stated Sunday.



BRAS routes traffic to and from broadband remote access devices including ADSL on service provider´s network.[break]



The installation has been started in the capital and major cities of Nepal. Besides, NT has also started establishing customer care center to address problems of customers and provide them necessary assistance to use the service.



NT´s ADSL service is available in 75 districts across the country and is distributed from 390 places.



The release further stated that the process of adding international bandwidth, which will raise NT´s bandwidth capacity to 4.2 gbps from existing 3.2 gbps, was underway.



“We are targeting to increase the capacity to 10 gbps by next year," the release said, adding that it would help make ADSL service better and cheaper.
