NT enter last four of corporate T20

KATHMANDU, May 30: Nepal Telecom (NT) registered a 193-run victory over Nepal SBI Bank on Saturday to book a place in the semifinals of the ongoing UWTC Inter Corporate T-20 Cricket Tournament. NT entered the last four as the group winner from Group ´A´ with nine points from three matches.



With a century each from man of the match Subash Khakurel (147 unbeaten) and Naresh Budhayar (115), NTC scored a mammoth 272 runs in the allotted 20 overs match losing only two wickets. Khakural struck rapid 20 boundaries and six sixes off 66 balls.



Likewsie, Naresh Budhayar made 115 runs off 49 deliveries with a dozen of sixes and seven boundaries. Min Gurung of SBI Bank sent two NT batsmen to the pavilion in his four-over spell conceding 39 runs.



In their turn, SBI Bank could manage only 79 runs in 12.3 overs. Manish Shrestha contributed 53 runs for SBI Bank but none of his teammates could come up with the double figure score. Hari Krishna Sharma and Sunam Gautam claimed three wickets each while Dhirendra Lal Shrestha and Sudhan Silwal picked one wicket each to restrict SBI Bank to a low score.



In another match of Group ´B´, Sunrise Bank got a walkover from Bank of Kathmandu. Casino Everest has already booked place in the semis from the group as the group winner with seven points.
