Dangi claimed that contractor Suratjung Malla issued threats to him after he exposed irregularities in the supply of ration to the Famous Mahinda Battalion of Nepal Army. [break]
"I am forced to stay at my relatives´ and friends´ following the threat," Dangi said at press conference jointly organized by Nepal Student Union and Tarun Dal.
Dangi said Malla threatened him saying he had high level contacts in the police force. "He has threatened me saying he would kill me before Tihar."
The Nepal Student Union and Nepal Tarun Dal have claimed that there have been “grave irregularities” in the supply of ration to the Nepal Army, the Nepal Police and also in the ongoing construction of Tribhuvan Janata Higher Secondary School.
It has been learnt that Malla has also threatened Dangi´s landlord.
"They threatened my landlord and the owner of the hotel where I regularly go for meal," said Dangi, adding, "I received such threats from Malla at a time when I have been preparing to lodge a complaint against the irregularities at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)."
Dangi said that he has already informed Chief District Officer and police officers about the threat. "However, I am saddened that the local administration has taken no action against Malla," he added.
