"Work on the long term projects -- 8th National Sports Tournament and 13th South Asian Games -- will catch speed as the NSC board has taken full shape today,” he added.
Pitambar Timsina has been appointed the vice-president of NSC for the second time. Earlier, he held the position for four years from 2008 to 2013. The position was vacated after Lamatendi Sherpa finished his tenure two months ago.
Similarly, former national volleyball player Indira Niraula and Rajesh Gurung were included in the NSC board as members. This is Niraula’s first role as an administrator.
The two member seats had fallen vacant after Shakuntala Nagarkoti's tenure expired and Shailesh Karmacharya was promoted to the treasurer of the board.
