NRNA's election process begins

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The election process to elect a new leadership of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) which was postponed on Tuesday has begun at 10:00 am on Thursday.


According to NRNA spokesperson, Bhushan Ghimire, the ballot paper has been used as a dispute erupted on either to use electronic voting machine or ballot paper. The both sides agreed to use ballot paper after holding a long discussion, Ghimire added.

As many as 76 candidates are contesting for 42 posts. There are different six polling stations and the voting will end by 4:00 pm on Thursday.


Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to address the concluding session of world conference and international assembly of the NRNA.


Earlier, President Bidya Devi Bhandari inaugurated the event on Tuesday.


NRN representatives from 81 countries are attending the congress.
