NPGA, issuing a press release on Sunday, informed that the tournament is being sponsored by NPGA President Rabindra Man Shrestha. [break]The tournament will be played over 54 holes, in which 25 professional and 15 top amateurs will take part.
NPGA claimed that the playing condition of the oldest golf course in Nepal has been tweaked up for the tournament. Most participants played a practice round on Sunday on the course.
The event carries a total purse of Rs 200,000 and the winner will get a check for Rs 44,000. Eighteen other top players will also receive their share of cash prizes.
Last year´s order of merit winner Rabi Khadka, season´s money leader Rupak Acharya, and defending champion Ramesh Nagarkoti, Shiva Ram Shrestha along with other top pros are taking part in the tournament.
According to NPGA, three new professionals, Ramesh Adhikari, Suman Rai and Dhruba KC will have a debut in this tournament.
