The international community and development partners should help address the special needs of the LLDCs by scaling up financial support in predictable and sustainable to enhance connectivity and facilitate trade within and beyond the region, Kshetry said addressing the Final Regional Review Meeting of the Almaty Programme of Action for the LLDCs at Vientiane, Lao.
A Nepali delegation including Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies Lal Mani Joshi and other officials also attended the meeting.
On the occasion, Secretary Joshi highlighted some major achievements, obstacles and way forward for integrating national economy into global economy by enhancing trade.
Joshi also emphasized the need of enhancing international support mechanism including aid for trade (AFT) in addition to ODA, through National Accounting System.
The meeting would access the progress made by LLDCs during the period of implementation of Almaty Programme of Action and will frame the successor programme of action to enhance trade, transit and socio-economic development of LLDCs.
Minister for Public Works and Transport of Lao PDR Mr Sommad Pholsena had chaired the meeting.
