Issuing a public notice on Wednesday, the aviation sector regulator has urged all concerned not to use drones without seeking permission from it.
"As we have been receiving complaints about haphazard use of drones, we have decided to allow people to use drones only after seeking prior approval," Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane, joint secretary of MoCTCA, said in a statement.According to CAAN, the aviation sector regulator will not issue permission to fly drone above sensitive areas like airports and areas restricted areas declared by the government.
Meanwhile, Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) reverted to the normal operation hour i.e. 18 hours a day from Wednesday citing drop in number of rescue and commercial flights. The only international operated round the clock from Saturday till Tuesday due to pressure of both commercial as well as rescue flights.
The government used seven choppers of private helicopter operators for rescue purpose in coordination with Nepal Army till Monday. Now, it is using only two choppers of private helicopter companies.
Private helicopters rescued 5,522 injured and distributed 75.6 tons of relief material in different quake hit areas, according to the statement.
According to TIA, a total of 236 rescue flights from 38 countries landed at TIA with relief materials and rescue teams till Tuesday. Likewise around 90 commercials flights took off and landed at TIA daily till Tuesday midnight.
