KATHMANDU, Sept 4: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Tuesday said there is no point in unnecessarily dragging to controversy his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Tehran.

Addressing an all-party interaction organized by Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) in the capital, the prime minister said that the issue of nationalism was being raised in a wrong manner. [break]

“This has hurt me,” he said referring to media reports which quoted Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha expressing dissatisfaction at his “secret” meeting with the Indian prime minister.

“There were 100-150 heads of the states and governments attending the summit. As I we had time before the summit would actually begin, I utilized the time to meet the Indian prime minister,” he said.
