Speaking at the inaugural function, Prime Minister Nepal stressed on the assistance of private sectors for the development of health sector. “Government can only provide basic health facilities,” he said. Stating that the doors were open for private investors to invest in the health sector, he also urged the private hospitals to make health services accessible to people from lower echelons of the society. PM Nepal said that it was disappointing that Nepalis are compelled to go abroad for better treatment.
Basanta Chowdhary, Chairman of Norvic Hospital said that under the agreement, Medanta will provide advanced technology and treatment procedures to enable Norvic to provide the advanced health services. “Norvic´s healing touch and specialized care combined with Medanta´s technical know-how will avail Nepalis of world class services.”

The book titled “Healthier Lifestyle-Healthier Heart” written by senior consultant cardiologist Dr Bharat Rawat was also launched at the ceremony.
