No unauthorized access in voter List: EC

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Amid controversy surrounding unauthorized access to the voter list, the Election Commission (EC) has clarified that no such access is possible. 



The EC issued a statement on Monday, noting that claims regarding unauthorized access on various media and social platforms have drawn its attention.

In a statement, EC Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said, “The EC is fully committed to safeguarding citizens’ confidential information as required by law. Our IT experts continuously monitor the system, analyze security risks and implement all necessary measures to ensure its protection.”


The EC also noted that PDF files obtained from its information system contain legally provided data shared only with election offices and political parties for electoral purposes.
