'No anti-China activity in Nepal'

BEIJING, Dec 30: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal reiterated Nepal´s one China policy saying that Tibet and Taiwan are integral part of the northern neighbor and assured that Nepal´s land would not be provided to anyone for anti-Chinese activities. [break]



Addressing a function at the Tsinghua University on ´Nepal-China Relation´ on Wednesday, PM Nepal blamed the 12-year-long conflict for Nepal´s political instability and obstruction in the development process.



He said the process of statute drafting and development construction has begun on the basis of consensus in a bid to maintain political stability and expedite development process in the country.



PM Nepal said the government was preparing for setting up an Agricultural University and added necessary technical knowledge could be taken from China.



Similarly, PM stressed on tripartite relationship between Nepal, China and India adding that India-China relationship was always important for Nepal. He said Nepal would maintain equal relations with both neighboring countries.



On the occasion, PM expressed confidence that Nepal´s new constitution would be promulgated within the stipulated date and informed the government was in favor of writing statute as per the people´s aspiration and bringing the peace process to its logical end.



PM said historical and close Nepal-China relationship would reach to a new height by his China sojourn.



Delivering his speech at the university, PM Nepal said Nepal and China have been facing same problems caused by the global warming following the melting snow and proposed to work together to combat the common problems raised by the climate change.



Earlier, chairperson of the university welcomed PM Nepal and informed about the Tsinghua University. Tsinghua University is the one of the three finest universities in China. Four Nepali students have enrolled in the university.



Meanwhile, PM Nepal visited a Lama Temple in northeast of Beijing Wednesday morning.



Similarly, PM Nepal is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Hu Zintao and President of the People´s Congress Wu Bangguo.
