She said this after the inauguration of Chinese Lama Boudha Foundation Thursday in response to a query of journalists that whether political protection was given to Rubel, who is a Bangladeshi national.[break]
"Rubel is like my son, so action will not be taken against him," Koirala said.
She hit journalists counter questions, "What is the evidence to punish him and what he has done against Nepal´s nationality?" "I urge media persons not to sensitise the Rubel-Paras case. I don´t want to tarnish my image now as I had spoken a lot about this issue."
In another context, she said the Parliament´s special session should be made the platform to bail the country out of the present political crisis. All parties should be equally responsible, she said.
At the programme, Tourism Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari said that the establishment of the foundation will help strengthen age-old relations between Nepal and China.
Foundation Chairperson Rosana Lama said that the organisation was established to make the contributions of first Chinese Lama Taipi Singh and his officials immemorial.
