KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Nicola Kathryn Pollit is succeeding Richard Morris as UK ambassador to Nepal.
The newly-appointed UK ambassador Pollit will take over the responsibility within this month.

“I have now left Nepal. I look forward to taking up my next role as British High Commissioner to Fiji and Head of the Pacific Network in July 2020,” tweeted Morris on Wednesday, while announcing his successor.
Foreign and Commonwealth Office in May-end had announced Pollit as new UK envoy to Nepal. She has been serving as Additional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate at the FCO since 2017. She started her diplomatic career at the FCO in 2003 and served at the FCO in various capacities including as Somalia Conference Coordinator (2016-17), Assistant Private Secretary to the Prime Minister (2014-16) and Deputy Head of Crisis Management Department (2013-2014).
Pollit has also served as Senior Policy Advisor for Afghanistan, Pakistan and India for Cabinet Office (2011-13) and Head of Political Team in Kabul (2010-11). The outgoing UK ambassador Morris had arrived in Kathmandu in November, 2015.
