NICCI VP KC meets BJP Foreign Affairs Chief Chauthaiwale to discuss Nepal-India economic cooperation

KATHMANDU, March 5: Vice President of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) Sunil KC paid a courtesy call with Foreign Affairs Chief of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dr. Bijaya Chauthaiwale at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi.

KATHMANDU, March 5: Vice President of Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) Sunil KC paid a courtesy call with Foreign Affairs Chief of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Dr. Bijaya Chauthaiwale at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi. 


A wide-ranging discussion was held to strengthen Nepal-India economic relations by increasing Indian investment in the AAA model in the infrastructure sector including Nepal's energy and cross-country power transmission line. Stating that it is necessary to involve private sector investors from both Nepal and India in projects that require huge investment in Nepal, Vice-President KC requested Indian investors to take necessary initiative to invest in such projects in Nepal.

Vice President KC also requested help in the development of entrepreneurship by establishing Nepal-India Entrepreneurship Center in Nepal. He also said that it is necessary to promote the public-private partnership (AAA) model by investing in large hydropower projects and infrastructure projects with the participation of government investment bodies between Nepal and India and private sector investors of both the countries.


On the occasion, Dr. Chauthaiwale expressed his desire to increase Indian investment in big projects in Nepal. He assured that he would take necessary initiatives to increase Indian investment in Nepal through his party's government.
