KATHMANDU, May 17: Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Monday warned that the party´s next phase of protests may not necessarily be peaceful and can take the form of a "people´s revolt".

Dahal issued the warning during an interaction organized by a front of 10 political parties led by the UCPN-Maoist in the capital.

"Our struggle has just paused. And it is going to explode soon, and it may not necessarily be peaceful. It could be a people´s revolt on the streets of Kathmandu," he said. "The history will show who will come to the dock of justice," he added.

He argued that his party would not approve extension of CA term at any cost. "Lending support for CA term extension means sticking to status quo," he said.
