KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The Nepali Congress (NC) on Friday warned of stir ahead if the government failed to bring the culprit involved in the heinous crime committed against Nirmala Panta at the earliest.
Issuing a press release following the Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the party held in Sanepa today, the NC has condemned the police act of tearing off Nirmala’s posters recently, dubbing it an act of high-handedness of the police and blatant intervention in the citizens’ constitutional right to assemble and demonstrate peacefully.

The government had ordered a ban on the demonstration on the Nirmala case during the Asia Pacific Summit 2018 held recently.
“The NC seriously takes serious exception to the government’s attitude of showcasing prime minister’s posters on every nook and cranny of the capital while putting a ban on that of Nirmala’s,” reads the press statement.
Various parties, organizations and individuals have been criticizing the government for its failure to bring the culprit involved in the murder and rape of Nirmala Panta, a 13-year-old girl who had been brutally murdered after rape in Kanchanpur back in July.
