New mountains to be opened for climbing: Minister Bhattarai

CHITWAN, Nov 16: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has announced that new mountains would be opened for climbing targeting the Visit Nepal Year 2020. 


The preparation for the Visit Nepal Year has been expedited, he said, adding that publicity for it has been made in the country and abroad.

The international publicity of the Visit Nepal Year is being made through the ambassadors. The activities such as sanitation in the tourist areas, the announcement of attractive programs by the entrepreneurs, public awareness on hospitability are being done, according to the Minister. 


Also prioritized were insurance to climber, rescue and guide training. Grand programmes would be held in seven provinces and the capital in January. 


On a different note, Minister Bhattarai informed that process to upgrade Bharatpur airport has been initiated. "A committee was formed under the coordination of Joint Secretary at the Ministry,' he added.
