881 climbers receive autumn climbing permits for various mountains

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has issued climbing permits for a total of 42 mountains as of Friday, with 881 climbers from 114 teams receiving permission to scale these peaks.

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has issued climbing permits for a total of 42 mountains as of Friday, with 881 climbers from 114 teams receiving permission to scale these peaks.


Among them, 702 are male climbers, while 179 are female climbers. Interestingly, this season has seen more climbing permits issued for mountains other than Mt. Everest. Mount Manaslu stands out with the highest number of climbers, as 301 individuals from 26 teams have received permission to climb, including 65 women.

Additionally, 18 climbers from 18 teams have been granted permits for Mt. Amadablam, and 111 climbers from 14 teams have obtained permission to climb Mt. Himalung. Furthermore, 33 people from five teams have been issued permits to ascend Putha Hiun Chuli.


During this season, the DoT has collected a total of Rs 57.7 million in royalties.
