The company has started selling 22-ton Hyundai excavators -- Robex 220LC-7 and Robex 220LC-9s -- and Hamm 311 D in the Nepali market.[break]
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Seung Woo Lee, general manager -- sales and marketing of Hyundai Construction Equipment India (HCEI), said the company was delighted to offer the all new technologically advanced 9 Series as well as the value for money excavators in the 22-ton segment to the customers in Nepal.
“We have been closely observing the Nepali market which has been slow for the past 3 years due to lack of government development budget and political uncertainty. Having said that, the market condition will positively revive after the upcoming general elections in July 2013 making it an emerging and important market for us,” said Lee.
HCEI aims to cater both types of customer for applications ranging from road, small mining, hydropower and aggregate industries. According to the company, the company´s cost price for the excavators ranges from Rs 7.5 to Rs 8 million.
Construction Solutions has been selling Hyundai excavators in the Nepali market for the past four years. It claims to have market share of around 35 percent.
According to the company, Hamm 311D soil compactor manufactured by Wrigten Group uses imported control panel. Similarly, it has 3 point articulation and clear information display. The company has claimed that it consumes low fuel and is easy to maintain.
“With the Hamm 311D, we have developed a model that is designed specifically for hilly terrain markets and is perfect for Nepal. 311D has a drum drive compactor which corresponds to the high standards of quality of the Wirtgen Group, but is manufactured locally in India so that the pricing allows us to prevail on highly competitive market," said Ramesh Palagiri, managing director and CEO of Writgen India.
The soil compactor costs around Rs 3.5 to 4 million in the Nepali market.
