KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Shivam New Diamond Academy and Chitwan Tigers have advanced into the semifinals of the ongoing Aadhi Aabadi Women’s Volleyball Tournament on Sunday.
In the match played at the National Sports Council (NSC)’s Covered Hall in Tripureshwar, New Diamond defeated the departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club 3-2 to make its semifinal place. New Diamond won the first set 25-15, while it lost the second set 22-25, and the third 18-25 going behind to trail 1-2. After that, New Diamond recovered brilliantly to win the last two sets. New Diamond won the fourth set 25-22 and the fifth set 15-11 to win the match.
Manage tiger-human conflict to save tigers
After the win, New Diamond secured its last four berth with still a match to play. Army, who has now lost both its game, has been knocked out of the tournament. It lost to Chitwan 3-0 in the first match. Now, New Diamond and Chitwan will take on each other to decide the winner and the runner-up of Group A.
The departmental teams Armed Police Force (APF) and Tribhuvan Army Club, the former beat the latter in straight sets of 3-0 in 25-19, 25-22, 25-20.
