KATHMANDU, June 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday inclined marginally by 6.37 points to close at 2,121.62 points.


The market opened at 2,115.24 points and reached the day’s high at 2,134.08 points in the first 13 minutes. The index dipped as low as 2,118.8 points in the next two hours. In the remaining period, the market recovered around three points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 1.67 points. The daily turnover inclined further to Rs 5.89 billion from Rs 5.55 billion on Tuesday.


Non-life insurance shed the highest of 53.20 points among four losers, which involved hydropower, trading and hotels and tourism. Of the nine gainers, microfinance added the largest of 41.27 points in its index.


Among individual companies, 119 were recorded as gainers whereas 115 were the losers.


NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 276.36 million. Samriddhi Finance Company Limited was the topmost gainer, while Sayapatri Hydropower Limited lost the highest of 4.48 percent of its market value.
