KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday declined marginally by 5.89 points to close at 2,004.45 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,010.35 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2000.09 points in the first 17 minutes of trading. In the next 45 minutes, the market however escalated to as high as 2,015.32 points. In the remaining three hours, the market however lost around 11 points before it closed for the day.
It was followed by a series of fluctuations to hit the day’s low at 2,004.36 points in the last eight minutes of trading hours. By recovering around six points, the market closed for the day.

In the intraday trading, the sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also dipped 1.94 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 1.565 billion from Rs 2.326 billion on Sunday.
While only hydropower and mutual funds succeeded to add value to their market prices, the remaining 11 groups registered as losers. Life insurance with a fall of 79.26 points was the biggest loser.
Among individual companies, the market values of 93 companies rose. On the other hand, 130 companies posted losses in their indices.
Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 76.89 million. With a drop of 10 percent in the market value, Shuvam Power Limited was the biggest loser while Mai Khola Hydropower Limited was the biggest gainer.
