KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday surged by 22.14 points to close at 2,760.21 points.
The market opened at 2,738.06 points and escalated to the day’s high at 2,782.44 points within the first 40 minutes. The market then declined and hovered at around 2,770 points for the next two hours. The index plunged to the day’s low at 2,734.91 points in the last 15 minutes. The market recovered around 26 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, gained 3.61 points. The daily turnover soared to Rs 11.31 billion from Rs 9.77 billion on Sunday.
Among individual companies, 228 were gainers whereas 13 companies were recorded as losers.
Eight out of the 13 groups were the gainers, with life insurance gaining the largest of 224.64 points. Non-life insurance lost the biggest of 30.57 points, followed by finance, development bank, hydropower, and hotels and tourism.
Sahas Urja Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 381.78 million. Eastern Hydropower Limited by shedding 10 percent of its market value was registered as the biggest loser. Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd was recorded as the topmost gainer.
