KATHMANDU, Dec 4: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday declined by 24.97 points to close at 2,750.87 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,775.85 points and nosedived to 2,752.29 points in the first 11 minutes. The index, however, recovered around 38 points in the next 38 minutes. The market however could not maintain its attraction for the investors in the remaining time as the index declined around 40 points again to close for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased by 2.18 points. The daily turnover inclined to Rs 9.13 billion from Rs 8.52 billion on Tuesday.
From the gaining groups, hydropower escalated by 21.71 points followed by manufacturing and processing with 10.01 points and microfinance with 6.21 points. Out of the 10 losers, trading shed the highest of 467.76 points as life insurance and development banks were also in a row of losing three-digit points.
Among the individual companies, 104 were gainers while 132 lost in their market values. Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 303.06 million.
Two companies including Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd and Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) Limited were recorded as the topmost losers. Khanikhola Hydropower Co Ltd, with an increase of 9.99 percent in its market price, was the largest gainer.
