KATHMANDU, Dec 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday plunged 24.46 points to close at 1,938.76 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,963.22 points and hit the day’s high of 1,964.25 points in the first one hour of the trading day. However, the index went to a straight fall throughout the remaining trading hours.

The daily turnover posted a significant amount, to Rs 1.67 billion from Rs 1.56 billion on Sunday. In the intraday trading, a total of 181 companies lost in their market value while only 14 companies gained on their share prices.
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chips companies also went down 5.19 points. All the 13 trading groups lost in their average share prices. Of them, life insurance and manufacturing and processing lost three-digit points, while eight others went through a fall of two digits value.
Among the individual companies, Ridi Power Company Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 308.35 million. Ajod Insurance Limited was the top loser while Sayapatri Hydropower Limited gained the highest percent of its market value.
