KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday increased marginally by 4.92 points to close at 2,090.64 points.
The market opened at 2,085.71 points and reached the day’s high at 2,107.58 points in just seven minutes of trading. In the next one hour, the index then fell to as low as 2,087.24 points. The market almost remained stable for the remaining trading hours.
NEPSE inches up 6.94 points; daily turnover increases slightly...
The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies added 0.12 points. The daily turnover marginally increased to Rs 2.84 billion from Rs 2.59 billion on Tuesday.
Six out of the 13 groups had their market values declined. Non-life insurance witnessed the largest fall of 42.32 points. Of the gainers, life insurance added the highest of 136.59 points, followed by hotels and tourism with 81.90 points.
Among individual companies, 168 were recorded as gainers whereas 68 were the losers.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited with transactions of its shares worth Rs 248.26 million topped the segment. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained 10 percent of its market price, the largest of all. NCC Debenture 2086 lost the highest of 5.25 percent of its market value.
