KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased marginally by 2.95 points to close at 2,633.87 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,630.91 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2,612.13 points in the first 28 minutes. The index escalated to the day’s high at 2,647.32 points in the next one hour. In the remaining two and a half hours, the market shed 14 points before it closed for the day.
Nepse hits 2-year high after week's broad surge
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also increased by 0.37 points. The daily turnover further declined to Rs 4.34 billion from Rs 5.93 billion on Monday.
Five out of the 13 groups were the losers. Development bank with a fall of 36.56 points led the segment. Of the gainers, trading added the largest of 28.05 points.
Among the individual companies, 117 were gainers while an equal number were registered as losers. Janaki Finance Company had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 222.40 million. Support Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha was recorded as the highest gainer and Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited was topmost loser.
