KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday lost 14.12 points to close at 2,734.83 points.
The market opened at 2,748.96 points, initially jumping to the day’s high at 2,757.38 points in the first few minutes of the trading. The index then dropped by 23 points, followed by an increment of 20 points again in the next 45 minutes. The index hovered around 2,740 points and was stable for around an hour, then subsequently plunging to the day’s low at 2,728.85 points when the trading time was left for 18 minutes. The market recovered around six points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, shed 5.08 points. The daily turnover slightly increased to Rs 7.91 billion from Rs 7.85 billion on Tuesday.
Among individual companies, 99 were gainers whereas 138 companies were recorded as the losers. Only four groups - including finance, development bank, hydropower and mutual fund - were the gainers, with finance leading the segment with a gain of 151.94 points. Of the nine losing groups, non-life insurance suffered the largest decline of 167.50 points in its index.
Janaki Finance Company Limited with a single day turnover of its shares worth Rs 338.63 million led the segment. Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited was recorded as the topmost loser. Saptakoshi Development Bank and Shrijanshil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited added the highest of 10 percent in their market values.
