KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Thursday plunged 20.16 points to close at 1,874.60 points.
The secondary market which opened at 1,894.76 points, increased around three points in the first eight minutes and went into a straight fall in the remaining trading hours. The market hit the day’s low at 1,870.7 points in the last 15 minutes, while it recovered around four points before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also lost 2.95 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 1.700 billion from Rs 1.088 billion on Wednesday.
Only mutual funds added 0.03 points to its market value. Of the remaining 12 groups, hotels and tourism plunged the highest of 151.67 points, followed by non-life insurance and life insurance that shed 149.76 points and 141.36 points, respectively.
Among individual companies, the market values of 210 companies declined, while 23 companies posted gains in their indices.
Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited Promoter Share had trading of Rs 163.84 million and stood on top of the transaction volume. City Hotel Limited lost the highest of 9.09 percent in its market price. Similarly, Bhagawati Hydropower Development Company Limited registered as the biggest gainer, adding 10 percent of its market value.
