KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday escalated 36.57 points to close at 2,059.49 points.
According to the NEPSE, the market opened at 2,022.92 points. The index rose to 2,043.92 points, followed by a decline to 2,028.3 points in the first half an hour. In the remaining trading hours, the index almost went to an inclining trend throughout before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index that measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also inclined 4.27 points. The daily turnover amount declined to Rs 4.675 billion from Rs 5.241 billion on Sunday.
Only mutual fund was the losing group in intraday trading today. Of the remaining 12 gainers, life insurance and non-life insurance gained the highest of 392.09 points and 155.93 points, respectively.
Among individual companies, 213 were recorded as gainers whereas 29 companies were the losers.
Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited carried out the largest transactions of its shares worth Rs 218.48 million. Singati Hydro Energy Limited gained the highest of 10 percent. Narayani Development Bank Limited was recorded as the highest loser.
