NEPSE falls for the third consecutive day; daily turnover slides to Rs 4.02 billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell 7.79 points on Wednesday, marking the third consecutive day of decline, to close at 2,688.88 points.

KATHMANDU, July 29: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell 7.79 points on Wednesday, marking the third consecutive day of decline, to close at 2,688.88 points.



The market, which opened at 2,696.67 points, plunged to as low as 2,684.46 points in the first 20 minutes. However, it rose to the day’s high at 2,706.86 points in the next 80 minutes. But the market could not maintain its charm for investors and fell to the day’s low of 2,682.99 points in the last three minutes.

The daily turnover declined to Rs 4.02 billion from Rs 4.42 billion. The sensitive index also fell 0.78 points.


Two sectors, including others and mutual funds, gained 8.55 points and 0.06 points, respectively. Of the 11 losers, manufacturing and processing lost the largest of 59.90 points.


Among individual companies, the price of 78 companies increased, 186 decreased, and 11 remained stable. Himalayan Power Partner had transactions of its shares worth Rs 224.84 million.


Garima Samriddhi Yojana had its market price decline by 6.60 percent, while Everest Colour Limited recorded the highest increase at 14.99 percent.
