KATHMANDU, Aug 18: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell 19.34 points to 2,622.48 points on Tuesday, extending its decline for a second consecutive trading day.
The Sensitive Index dropped 2.55 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index declined 1.30 points and 0.88 points, respectively.
Trading turnover also fell by around Rs 45 crore compared with Monday. A total of Rs 5.07 billion worth of shares changed hands through 55,246 transactions involving 347 stocks. On Monday, turnover stood at Rs 5.52 billion.
Nepse hits 2-year high after week's broad surge
Sarvottam Paints and Mountain Everest Power Development gained Rs 68.40 and Rs 78.60, respectively, reaching Rs 524.60 and Rs 603.20 per share. Both traded at the positive circuit limit. Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut’s share price, however, fell 10.63%.
Agricultural Bond (9-year) recorded the highest turnover at Rs 506.8 million, followed by Solu Hydropower with Rs 390 million and Khani Khola Hydropower with more than Rs 250 million.
Of the 13 sub-indices, 12 declined, while the trading sub-index posted a marginal gain.
