Nepse down 6.22 points

KATHMANDU, July 4: After posting double digit gain in earlier trading, Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index lost by 1.32 percent or 6.22 points to close at 464.69 points on Sunday, thanks to political uncertainties in the country.



The sub-indices of Banking and Development Bank groups dropped by 6.4 points and 0.32 points to close at 438.52 points and 474.49 points respectively. Similarly, Finance and Others groups also saw their sub-indices go down by 2.52 points and 19.97 points to close the days trading at 407.62 points and 540.48 points respectively. [break]



However, Hotels, Hydropower and Insurance groups saw rise in their sub-indices. The sub-indices of Hotels, Hydropower and Insurance groups went up by 4.35 points, 30.43 points and 0.29 points to settle at 422.11 points, 755.69 points and 549.53 points respectively.



A total of 58,768 units of shares and 62 scrips worth Rs 26.54 million changed hands through 963 transactions. Total market capitalization was recorded at Rs 365.16 billion.
