KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday corrected by a decline of 14.43 points to close at 2,677.62 points.
The secondary market that opened at 2,692.05 points, initially escalated to the day’s high at 2,705.08 points in just five minutes of trading. The market however could not retain its charm for investors and the index eventually fell to as low as 2,671.96 points when four minutes of the trading hours were left. The market recovered by around eight points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also declined by 2.46 points. The daily turnover slipped to Rs 5.95 billion from Rs 6.12 billion on Tuesday.
Among individual companies, 75 were gainers whereas only 164 companies were recorded as losers.
Three out of the 13 groups that included hotels and tourism, non-life insurance and trading were registered as gainers. The index of hotels and tourism surged the largest of 167.37 points. Of the 10 losers, life insurance shed the largest of 131.01 points.
CEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 341.79 million. Janaki Finance Company Limited witnessed the largest fall in its market price by 4.90 percent. Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Mid Solu Hydropower Limited gained the highest of 10 percent of their market values.
