Nepathya to perform in Doha for second time

Nepali rock band, Nepathya is performing at Asian Town Amphitheater, Doha, Qatar on August 12. The band will perform there on the public holiday of Eid al-Adha.

This is the band’s second gig in Doha since September 19, 2014. “I want to thank the organizers who made it possible for us to meet Nepali brothers in Doha,” Amrit Gurung, the frontman of Nepathya quoted in the press statement.

Qatar is one of the Middle East countries that have become the place for Nepali migrant workers. With having Nepali more than 400 thousand, the country has become not less of a tragedy. Most workers are compelled for labor at construction and landscaping.  The band, whatsoever, made a song, ‘Ma Mari Jaula, Jivan Choto Cha’, dedicating Nepali workers in the foreign nations. The song was about the plight of workers.

Sharing more about the gig, Gurung said it is always a happy moment for the band to perform among Nepali brothers and sisters. “Like always, Nepathya will always entertain people with giving the feeling of being Nepali.”

The band’s lineup includes Amrit Gurung on vocals, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Niraj Gurung on guitars, Subin Shakya on bass, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal and Dhurba Lama on drums.

Nepathya is one of the famous bands of Nepal that is formed by Deepak Rana, Bhim Poon and Amrit Gurung in 1990. Being in the Nepali music scene for almost three decades, Nepathya has already released eight albums.
