Shilpakar also said Nepali traders used the fair to enhance trade relation with East and South Asian countries.
According to Shilpakar, Indian and Chinese traders have started producing Nepali wood crafts by using Nepali craftsmen. “This will create problems for us,” he added.
Though China has offered duty free access to 7,787 Nepali products, Nepal suffered trade deficit of over Rs 52 billion with China in the last fiscal year.
Around 1,000 business firms from 32 countries of South Asia and South East Asia participated in the expo that concluded on Monday. The five-day exp had 85 Nepali stalls.
