The newspaper said the PMO statement claimed that Tara Kumari was negligent in her duties and was not attentive to the needs of Sara´s 96-year-old father Shmuel Ben-Artzi, who was recently released from Hadassah University Hospital´s intensive care unit, and has been living for the past several weeks with the Netanyahus.[break]
The statement cited the accounts of two anonymous witnesses -- a close friend of the Netanyahu family and the PMO security commander in support, according to the news report. The family friend claimed to have taken care of Ben-Artzi two months ago during a visit when he noticed that Tara Kumari was not attentive to the elderly´s needs. He also said, the report adds, that Tara Kumari did not keep Ben-Artzi´s quarters clean, and did not completely cooperate with hospital staff when he was hospitalized two months ago.
The security commander explained the details of what happened during a recent incident in which Tar Kumari was injured in her hand. Tara Kumari began to hysterically hurt herself after Sara Netanyahu made a remark to her forcing Netanyahu, standing at least a meter from the woman according to the commander, to yell for security.
Tara Kumari had earlier told Channel 2, an Israeli commercial television channel, Sara Netanyahu had suspected her of neglect and stealing money from her father. The television report had said that a fierce argument broke out between the two, during which Tara Kumari fell and hurt her hand on a table, after which a doctor was called.
Tara Kumari had alleged in the television report that the PM´s wife didn´t feed her, cursed at her and didn´t give her vacation time. She has also lodged a complaint with the Hotline for Migrant Workers and Physicians for Human Rights.
The PMO had issued a strong denial Tuesday night claiming the true story was "completely opposite" of what was reported and she had made the complaints only after it became known to her that the agency employing her was asked to find a replacement because she was negligent in her treatment of Ben-Artzi for a number of months.
