Nepali eves win 3 matches in TT world Championship

KATHMANDU, May 7: Nepal won three matches in the World Table Tennis Championship, held from April 26-May 3 in Suzhou city, China.

All three wins were completed in women's singles. National champion Nabita Shrestha won her matches against her Venezuelan and Sri Lankan opponents while Rabina Maharjan triumphed over her Columbian opponent.


They both completed wins in the league round.

Altogether six players, three each in men's and women's categories, represented Nepal in China.

Another member in the women's team was Alina Maharjan while the men's team comprised Deep Saun, Amarlal Malla and Purushottam Bajracharya. Meanwhile vice-president Bajracharya also said that Chinese table tennis merchandise producing company, Double Happiness, had sponsored Nepali players with equipment and jerseys worth Rs 100.000.
