Nepali award ceremony set to be held in Japan

Surya Corporation Limited is all set to organize second edition of ‘Surya International Award’. President of Surya Corporation Limited Basudev Lamichhane announced the award will be held in November in Tokyo. Speaking at the event organized in Kathmandu, Lamichhane informed that the award function will have more fanfare than in previous edition.

The event saw the presence of several dignitaries including President of Film Development Board Keshab Bhattarai, President of Film Association Pradip Kumar Udaya, Vice-President of Nepal Film Producer's Association Madav Wagle, Actor Bhuwan KC, and Singer Hemanta Sharma. According to a press statement issued by Surya Cooperation, nominations for the award will be released soon and there will be several award categories including acting, singing, dancing and comedy. Movies and songs released in 2075 BS can participate in the award. The statement further reads that the award aims to promote Nepali film fraternity. More than 50 celebrities and media persons will participate in the award that is going to be held at Nakano Zero Hall, Japan.
