Nepali artists hold exhibition in Dhaka

KATHMANDU, April 7: Two Nepali artists – Jupiter Pradhan and Sauraganga Darshandhari – held a duet art exhibition in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, reported The New Nation on Tuesday.



Nepali traditional decorative lines and the reflection of myths and beliefs of the Nepali society were presented vividly in the works of Pradhan and Darshandhari. The exhibition was held at Alliance Francaise in the city on March 27-April 5.



While Pradhan showed the motifs of rickshaw painting of Bangladesh in his works, Darshandhari depicted the ´burqa´ clad women of Bangladesh along with the presentation of beliefs and decorative ornamentation of Nepal.



These Nepali artists are students of Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Development Alternative (UODA) in Dhaka. They completed their B.FA from Tribhuvan University in Painting. Both of them have participated in quite a number of exhibitions and workshops, the news portal said.
