Nepal wins four golds

KATHMANDU, March 18 : Nepal bagged 17 medals, including four golds, in the Uma Kung-fu section of the First Martial Arts Championship being held in Bangkok of Thailand.

Nepal claimed three silver and 10 bronze medals in the championship, according to Siddharth Lama, secretary of Nepal Uma Kung-fu Association. Pragya KC, Maniraj Mikchhan, Raman Rai and Bikash Lama won gold medals for Nepal.


Samrakshyak into second round

KATHMANDU: Samrakshyak Bhushan Bajracharya of Nepal entered into the second round of the ITF Asian Under-14 Development Championship Division-1 being held in Bangkok of Thailand. He defeated Rattanan Siritavornch of Thailand 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 in boys' singles. The top four players will be selected for the Asia Pacific Championship to be held in Melbourne, Australia. Meanwhile, Anne Mathema faced defeat against Punnin Kovapitukted of Thailand 6-1, 6-1in girls' singles.
