Nepal urges India to investigate Gularia incident

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Expressing concern over the media reports on a recent raid by the Indian Policemen in Gularia of Bardiya District, the Nepal government  has drawn attention of the Indian government on Thursday through Indian embassy in Kathmandu.



"The ministry has expressed concerns over the incident and requested the Indian side to investigate into the matter and make sure that such incidents will not happen in the future," reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday evening. [break]

 

According to the ministry, the Indian side has assured it will investigate into the matter. "The Indian side expressed their assurance that they will investigate into the matter and, if found to be true, take appropriate actions against officials concerned and make sure that such incidents will not occur in the future," the statement further says.
