Nepal created several goal-scoring chances in the game, but could not utilize them. In the Group B match played on the same day, India saw off Bhutan 4-0 to secure a semifinal spot.

Paul Shubho opened the scoring for India in the fourth minute, while Subba Kushang added the second to its tally in the 66th minute. Likewise, Shubho added his second in the 83rd minute, with Xalxo Alam sealing India’s comfortable win in the 90th minute.

Nepal will now take on Group B winner Pakistan in the semifinal, after India plays against Group A winner Bangladesh earlier on Thursday.
