Nepal thrashes India in SAFF U-17 Championship

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Nepal defeated India in a match of the SAFF U-17 Championship going on in Sri Lanka, on Friday. Nepal won against India with the score 3-1.

KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Nepal defeated India in a match of the SAFF U-17 Championship going on in Sri Lanka, on Friday. Nepal won against India with the score 3-1.


Nepal has become the winner of the group and India the runner-up. Nepal has 6 points while India has only 3 points.

Bhutan has already been eliminated from the championship with no points. In the match, Nepal tied 1-1 in the last minute of the first half and added two goals in the second half.


Saroj Darlami, Yunesh Budhathoki and Subas Bam scored one goal each for Nepal. Group A consists of hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives. Nepal will play the semi-final with the runner-up of Group A.
