Bimal Gharti Magar netted twin goals for home team in the second half taking his goal tally to five in the match marred by downpour. Sujan Limbu Ingnam had given Nepal early lead. A draw would have been sufficient for Nepal to book ticket for the last four while Pakistan was looking for a must win to seal its fate for the knockout stage.

After the completion of group stage, Nepal finished on top with seven points maintaining its unbeaten run. Afghanistan also enjoyed similar status as host team finishing second with five points. Holder Pakistan crashed out with two points without scoring single goal while Bhutan hit the bottom of table earning one point with a draw.
