Speaking at the Parliament, Nepali Congress Lawmaker of Mahottari district Sitaram Bhandari said that Nepal, in the capacity of SAARC chair, should initiate peace talks between India and Pakistan.

“Both India and Pakistan are our intimate neighbors since ancient time. They are on a war footing now. They should take up the path of Buddha by giving up the path of war. Nepal, as the SAARC chair, should play roles to bring them on board the peace talks,” Bhandari said.

Two Pakistani soldiers were killed in a ‘surgical strike’ carried out by Indian soldiers on Thursday night.
