KATHMANDU, July 28: Nepal national cricket team failed to book the spot in the ICC World T20 Qualifiers after losing a crucial match against Singapore played at the Indian Association Ground in Singapore on Sunday.
Singapore defeated Nepal by 82 runs and they have now advanced to the global qualifiers scheduled to be held in October in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Earlier, Singapore won the toss, elected to bat first and presented with a target of 192 runs for the loss of six wickets inside allotted 20 overs.

Timothy Hays David smashed 77 runs off 43 balls for Singapore. Likewise, Rohan Rangarajan and Manpreet Singh made 49 and 42 runs respectively while the other batsmen couldn’t manage to reach the double figures.
Abinash Bohara picked up highest four wickets conceding 35 runs in four overs while Karan KC picked up 2 wickets giving away 26 runs in three overs.
In reply, Nepal chasing the target of 192 runs, managed to collect 109 runs by losing all the wickets inside allotted 20 overs.
Opener skipper Paras Khadka and his partner Gyanendra Malla made 12 and 39 runs respectively. Likewise, Dipendra Singh Airee collected 23 runs off 22 balls while Sompal Kami could only make 11 runs off 8 balls.
Selladore Vijayakumar picked up the highest four wickets and Vinoth Baskaran picked up two for Singapore. Likewise, Janak Prakash, Amjad Mahboob and Anantha Krishna shared a wicket each while restricting Nepal from winning the match.
