KATHMANDU, Dec 7 : Nepal's Kiran Singh Bogati has clinched a gold medal in the Men's Athletics Marathon at the ongoing 13th South Asian Games (SAG), 2019.
Bogati finished the 42-kilometer marathon in 2 hours, 21 minutes and 17 seconds to win the gold medal.

Indian athletes secured the silver and bronze medals in the same competition.
Raspal Singh clocked 2 hours, 21 minutes and 57 seconds to win the silver, while Shre Singh got the bronze with a timing of 2 hours, 22 minutes and 7 seconds. Nepali athlete Baikuntha Manandhar, whose 2 hours, 15 minutes and 3 seconds of record set in the 3rd SAG Marathon in 1987, still remains unbroken in the SAG's history.
Similarly, under the women's category of the marathon, Sri Lanka's Hiruni Kesara won the gold medal, finishing in 2 hour, 41 minutes and 24 seconds. Nepal's Pushpa Bhusal clocked 2 hours, 50 minutes and 11 seconds to win the silver while India's Jyoti Gawati finished third within a timing of 2 hours, 52 minutes and 11 seconds winning the bronze.
Likewise, under the 800-metre men's marathon category held today itself, Nepal's Som Bahadur Kumal finished third in the race and got bronze medal, finishing in 1 minute and 51.44 seconds. Sri Lanka's Indunil won the gold medal within a timing of 1 minute and 50.52 seconds while India's Mohammad stood second in the race finishing in 1 minute and 51.25 seconds.
